Dr. Jason W. Clark
Jason and his family moved to Mount Washington in July of 2018. Jason grew up in Maceo, Kentucky and graduated from Campbellsville University (’97), and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (’00 and ’07). Previously he served as Pastor of Salvisa Baptist Church (KY) and First Baptist Church of Athens (TN). He and his wife Tina have five children, Lindsey, Lucas, Landon, Logan, and Lauren.
Dr. Marc Brown
Worship and the Arts
Marc joined the staff in 2015 after serving churches in Indiana and Virginia. Having grown up in Bowling Green, he is a is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and received his doctorate in Worship Studies from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies. Marc is married to Cyndi, and they have a daughter, Miriam.
John joined the staff in 2001 after serving churches in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. He and his wife, Susan, are Mississippi natives. John is a graduate of Mississippi College and Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. The Tappans have two grown sons and grandchildren in Lancaster, PA and Rome, GA. They enjoy hiking and camping
Jason was born in North Carolina but grew up in Orlando, Florida, where God called him into vocational Christian ministry while attending college. Jason served as Youth Pastor and Minister of Missions at a church in Florida before his move to Kentucky. He has served as the Minister of Youth here since 2008. Jason holds degrees from Luther Rice Seminary and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jason is married to Kayla. They have a daughter, Karis, and a son, Zane. He and his family love to travel.
Jennifer joined the staff in 2002 after serving at a church in Knoxville, Tennessee. She holds a degree from the University of Tennessee and has taken several childhood education classes at Southern Seminary. She and her husband Chris have three boys, Paul, Davis, and Cole.
Jake is a native of Mt. Washington, KY and joined the staff in 2013. He is a graduate of Sullivan University and Boyce Bible College. Jake is currently pursuing his graduate degree at Southern Seminary. Jake has served at churches in KY and IN. While serving at a church in KY, Jake met his wife Alicia.
Dr. Jim Castlen
Jim joined our staff in July 2014. He is a graduate of Berea College, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Shelby served with the International Mission Board in the Philippines (1972-1988) and in Australia (1988-1990). He was on the faculty of Clear Creek Baptist Bible College from 1990-2002 and then served as Director of Missions with the Three Forks Baptist Association in Eastern Kentucky for nearly twelve years. He and Shelby were married in 1966 and have two grown children and two grandchildren.
Pastor's Ministry Assistant
Donna became a member of FBC in 1992. She joined our staff in 2005. Donna grew up in Louisville, KY. She and her husband Tom have three children who were baptized and raised here at FBC, and they have four grandchildren. They enjoy hiking, camping, riding bikes and spending time with family.
CLC Ministry Assistant
Penny Franklin is our Ministry Assistant to Outreach, Assimilation and Activities. She has been with First Baptist Church since April of 1984. Penny graduated from Sullivan College with an Associate Degree in Business. Penny is married to Jamie and they have three children, Jacob, Noah and Sarah. Penny enjoys crafting and camping.
Staff Ministry Assistant
Lloyd, a lifelong resident of Mt. Washington, began working as a volunteer with the media ministry in the early 1990s, continuing that until joining the FBC staff in February 2008. He has an AA degree from JCC and a BS in Business Information Systems from Indiana Wesleyan. He and his wife Pam have been married since 1976. They have one daughter and two grandchildren. When time allows he loves hiking, biking, camping, and other outdoor activities.
Reception, Ministry Assistant
Hannah joined our staff in October 2017. She was born and raised in Mt. Washington and became a member at FBC in 2002. Hannah earned Art History degrees from the University of Kentucky and the University of Cincinnati. Hobbies she enjoys include baking, crafts, and most anything creative. Hannah’s favorite activity is spending time with her niece, Adeline.
